SNAP!
Photograpy at UTS

Until 29 January 2010

SNAP! highlights photographic works on loan to the UTS Art Collection by Selena Ou, Alexander Seton, Matthew Sleeth, Martin Parr, Darryn Sylvester, Jon Lewis and Jeremy Park alongside a special project created by the children at the UTS Childcare.

Inspired by an earlier exhibition by artist Jon Lewis, four and five year olds from the UTS Magic Pudding Childcare Centre were given donated digital cameras to take photos of each other over the course of a few weeks. From the many resulting photos, a shortlist of around 30 was selected by the children themselves for exhibition.

Each photo is accompanied by a short comment from the child who chose it as their favourite, many of which capture insightful moments in these children's daily lives, as well as a striking spontaneity.

UTS Gallery is grateful to the artists, Patrick Corrigan, the UTS Magic Pudding staff, parents and children for making this exhibition possible.
