Contemporary Slovenian Graphic Design

From Slovenia with love

3 - 26 May

Slovenia is a small country of around two million people, geographically and culturally located at the crossroads between Eastern and Western Europe. It is home to a vibrant graphic design industry, where there is a strong tradition of excellence in design. Fifty graphic designers from leading Slovenian design studios and advertising agencies are represented in Contemporary Slovenian Graphic Design, with work spanning 1988 - 1996.

Accompanied by a history of graphic design in Slovenia from 1945 - 1988 on CD-Rom, this exhibition promises not only inspiring and innovative graphic design, but also incisive insights into Slovenian culture and history over the last fifty turbulent years. The exhibition is curated and toured by FORMART - Association of Contemporary Urban Culture, Ljubljana, with the co-operation of the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia, Canberra.

The exhibition opening will be held on Wednesday, 3 May from 6-8pm, Level 4 of the Peter Johnson Building, 702 Harris St, Ultimo.
