Euan Macleod, Self Portrait-Head like a Hole, 1998/99

The Archibald Prize-winning self portrait by Australian artist Euan Macleod has left it's long-time home in the UTS Faculty of Business to go on loan for a major touring exhibition titled Surface Tension: the art of Euan Macleod 1989-2009.

Curated by Gavin Wilson through the Tweed River Art Gallery, this significant exhibition marks the first touring show of an artist considered to be one of the finest painters of his generation.Euan Macleod's work has been recognised with major awards including the Archibald Prize in 1999, the Sulman Prize in 2001 and the Blake Prize in 2006.

Surface Tension: the art of Euan Macleod 1989-2009 will open in Sydney at the S.H. Ervin Gallery on 12 November 2010, before showing at the Tweed River Art Gallery from late January 2011 and then touring to an additional four leading public galleries across NSW, Victoria and Queensland.
